Cut to now, and my husband has quit his job. I can work from anywhere. This is it, right? The moment we sell everything and the only time you hear from us is when we’re diving in various waterfalls all over the world?
If this is your first listen with me, allow me to introduce myself and welcome you to the Soulfully Confident Podcast! I’m your host, Emily Elizabeth, creator of the Soulfully Abundant Group Coaching program and certified Life Coach. This podcast is for the person who feels insecure, lost, and wants more from life but feels stuck. It is for their life. In this podcast, we will cover topics including self-love, managing your emotions, reconnecting in your relationships, and even manifestation. Remember, you are loved, you are worthy, and you are so capable of anything you want to achieve. Let’s jump in!
Gratitude Ruined Everything (in the Best Way)
Here’s the problem with our brilliant constant-wanderer plan…now we don’t need it. Notice I said “need”. Because the desire to roam around and discover things was really just me needing to search for something. Anything. Happiness. Meaning.
In this FREE 3 day training, I will share with you exactly how I went FROM: insecure, 'fake it until I make it' mentality, and very lost in my relationship TO: crushing my goals, feeling in control of my emotions, totally empowered to go after what I want, and to being in a truly secure and satisfying relationship.
And I know now it would have been futile. Because I am my own home, along with my husband and the people/love I surround myself with. I’m fulfilled in the work I do, and while I still have desires that are focused more around personal growth in relationships, and work on myself. Things that will take work inside of myself, that don’t need a #vanlife caption.
Steps to Happiness are Often Simple: the Bottomline
One of the best things you can do for yourself is to develop a gratitude mindset. This will allow you to always carry a calm and positive attitude no matter where you might be. It’ll help you feel fulfilled from within instead of seeking fulfillment through outside sources (that so often leave us wanting).
A great place to start is by practicing gratitude before bedtime. A shift in attitude AND something to guarantee a great night’s sleep? Sign. Me. Up.
So, how to achieve this blissful state of appreciation? Just think peaceful thoughts, over and over, like a mantra. Thank your body for its work, give thanks for your bed, and the partner who’s in it. Or for your dog or cat or whatever animals you allow to sleep with you.
Tell yourself you’re going to have wonderful dreams, and a restful sleep because you deserve to rest. The way we talk to ourselves is so important to our mindset, and often I don’t think we stop to evaluate HOW we think; what tone of “voice” we use, or the words. Your voice doesn’t have to be a dictator. It can be loving and safe, and encourage you to gently flow through your day.
It’s ok if it pops up at night (why do things always seem their worst as we’re sliding into bed?) but you choose what you listen to. Just love on yourself, and fall asleep in physical and mental comfort. This way it’ll be easier to wake up with gratitude as well. Say a quick thanks for the water beside your bed, or the restorative sleep you had.
You have all the tools and power you need to set yourself up for a good day, and it starts the minute you wake up.
