If this is your first listen with me, allow me to introduce myself and welcome to the Soulfully Confident Podcast! I’m your host, Emily Elizabeth, creator of the Soulfully Abundant Group Coaching program and certified Life Coach. This podcast is for the person who feels insecure, lost, and wants more from life but feels stuck. It is for their life. In this podcast, we will cover topics including self-love, managing your emotions, reconnecting in your relationships, and even manifestation. Remember, you are loved, you are worthy, and you are so capable of anything you want to achieve. Let’s jump in!
All of the work the retreat attendees did was transformative, and I’m so proud of the event I was able to put together for everyone.
But I had one journal prompt that really stuck with me, so I wanted to share that with you all now.
*Ahem*
6 Scary Words
Who do you want to be?
It really is as simple and as complex as that. And no I’m not asking what you want to do job-wise. I think so many of us use occupations as deflection shields and identities, which is dangerous. That’s only part of you, it in no way defines you. So let’s stop assigning worth based on someone’s profession, k thanks.
No, when I ask the above question, I’m asking what values or purpose are you striving daily to become?
For example, I want to be healthier. Now, in our diet culture minds, I’m sure we all immediately go to “Ok, so I need to be thinner, and restrict eating, and run everywhere till I’m skinny.”
No. This is the furthest intention from punishment, it’s about deliberate love. It means leaning into loving myself enough to fuel my body well, and figuring out reasons I overeat. True health is physical and mental, so it’s about accepting that there are things I need to change holistically to see positive changes.
It means that my motivation and intent drive everything. And it’s the same with you.
In this FREE 3 day training, I will share with you exactly how I went FROM: insecure, 'fake it until I make it' mentality, and very lost in my relationship TO: crushing my goals, feeling in control of my emotions, totally empowered to go after what I want, and to being in a truly secure and satisfying relationship.
Intentional Intent
If I can show up for myself and make gentler and better decisions, I can show up better for everyone else in my life. I know you’ve heard it a million times, but you’re really no good to anyone if you are neglecting your own needs.
When I take care of myself, I am a more patient and understanding person who can show up selflessly for others; I don’t need anything from them because I’ve found what I need within me and nurtured it.
This does not mean having zero reciprocity in relationships, nor does it mean that I’m a doormat. Ultimate health requires healthy boundaries, and I can still bring love to people while expressing my needs and standing up for myself when necessary. Again, if I’m not dealing with resentment because friend X did something that hurt me, I’m less likely to passive-aggressively plot ways to plan her ruin if I’m covering my own bases and taking care of myself.
Instead, I’ll be able to step back and address the problem respectfully before it turns into a thing.
Integrity Starts (and Ends) With You: The Bottomline
Acting from a place of integrity also means that sometimes I have to stand up to myself as much as I have to stand up to others.
I’m not perfect, and there are times when I fail to operate from a place of honesty and love. But because I practice so often, I’m more able to recognize these times and redirect with loving honesty,
This all helps me to keep growing into the person I want to become, and it’s a constant process. It’s never going to be over, and I hope that excites you instead of scares you. Because what an opportunity.
It means that every day we get to try and accept the mistakes we’ve made (and will continue to make) while we learn from them and try to be better.
That’s really all we can do. Act, mess up, reflect, repeat. It might seem exhausting sometimes, but it’s so worth it, and if you’re learning and growing, it’s never wasted time.
