My Story and Embracing The Journey

My background story and how I found my passion.

My business name is Emily Elizabeth Coaching and I am an American girl living in the Netherlands, but I am currently living in Holland. I am a life confidence coach who coaches couples and I love teaching people about the law of attraction, manifestation, worthiness, and confidence. I stress confidence a lot in my business because confidence ties into every single area of your life. I am currently on month 17 of my business and it's been super successful, which is great because it’s my passion and I feel fired up when I'm able to coach. Every time I coach a couple and hear about their problems, it always reminds me of why I started my business. God gave me this gift and I had to share it with people.

I am very blessed to have found my passion at a young age because for many it takes years. A lot of the time we get in our own way because of limiting beliefs, past trauma, fears, or insecurities. I am so blessed that I get to do what I love and make money doing it. I get to make my own schedule, live anywhere in the world all because I work online. In my interview with Tom, he points out there you don't have to work a nine to five if you truly believe you weren't meant to work a nine to five. If you want to live a life that you truly love, just believe that you're worthy of it and have the confidence to go and find it step by step journey by journey.

Creating confidence in my life and helping people.

I can genuinely say that I am amazing at coaching, but I don't say that to brag. I say that with confidence. Anybody can truly create confidence; it isn't innate. Maybe it comes more naturally to certain people but you can create confidence anywhere in your life. As a matter of fact, you can create anything you want in your life. I knew that coaching was what I had to do and I always wanted to help people. At first, I thought I wanted to go into nursing and I constantly volunteered because I've always had a compassionate empathetic heart. I remember I read a book by Jen Sincero called "You Are A Badass" and that's the first time I saw somebody as a life coach. I looked at the cover and thought to myself "what in the world is a life coach". Then in 2019, I found the Life Coach School with Brooke Castillo and I binged the entire thing and then signed up to be a life coach. That’s where I started getting consumed in all these different people and teachers. Everything started to fall into place. My relationship got better and I was able to start my own business to help others build their relationship with their significant others. My life got so much better because of my inner work and learning from the pain.

You should always have a support system.

You have to focus on what you want in order for it to come into your life. It takes time to believe something is possible for you and it does take a lot of inner work. It also takes a lot of asking yourself questions and getting the support you need. I am a coach and it's my business but I have a coach myself and I reach out to people beyond my coach. It is so valuable to have a support system that is outside of your friends and family. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing to have your friends and family support but to have that neutral party who isn't part of your core life and isn't going to give you a biased opinion. In my conversation with Tom, he says that the act of engaging with somebody else can bring so many new conversations on a genuine level. If you have a coach as a support person, they can ask you those painful questions somebody else might not. You will find you'll be able to put so much more stuff on the table when speaking with a coach. He says you don't just stop needing a coach. You're always going to need somebody on the sidelines to support you and guide you.

My happiness and how I define it.

I think happiness is a very visceral feeling. It's an emotion that we feel in our body that feels light, warm, comfortable, exciting, and peaceful. When I’m happy, I feel all those things and it feels like I'm in alignment. The main thing happiness feels for me is just complete appreciation and fullness. One of the main keys to becoming happy is gratitude every single day. The main affirmation I say every day is thank you because I've trained my brain to say that you first thing in the morning. Saying thank you changes everything. I am constantly retraining my brain to think happy thoughts because it's my thoughts that make me happy. I believe that your thoughts create your emotions so the way I choose to view the world, my life, my body, my relationship have created this sensation and feeling of happiness in my head.

We’re supposed to feel all the emotions we have. You have to remind yourself that it's okay to feel things. Something I have done in my life is working on knowing how worthy I am. I have always been very spiritual and when you know that you are undeniably worthy and enough, your core will start to show that. When I feel sad or angry, underneath it all I know that there is a sense of worthiness that is going to block those emotions from sinking to my core. This is what really protects me and keeps me happy. I also try to instill this in all my clients. No matter how you were raised or what you've been through, you can train your brain and train your beliefs to feel and know that you are worthy and enough.

My advice to my 18-year-old self.

At the end of my interview with Tom, he asked me if I could go back in time and be with my 18-year-old self, what advice would I give her. The advice I would give myself would be to love yourself more. I had a lot of body insecurities in the past so I would want someone to tell me that I have to love myself way more than I did. I would also tell myself that you are going to do exactly what you want to do. You are going to feel so much more aligned, full of life, love, and trust. I wouldn't change anything about my past though because it's how I got here today. What's the point of me trying to change something that can't be changed? All I can do is change my memory of things and change the experience of it in my life.
