Journal for your well-being

Daily journaling has changed my life in the most amazing way.

It’s funny, I tried for years! Years! To keep a daily journal, as far back as college. It never stuck. Never stayed consistent.

I set a goal last July that I was going to build this habit. I wanted it. I knew it made me feel good and allowed me to understand my thoughts and myself better.

I look forward to it every day. It energizes me! I write my fears, my thoughts, my Gratitude, my prayers, my dreams...I freakin’ love it

I built this practice with a commitment to myself to stay consistent. And oh what an amazing commitment it is!

I have my clients buy a journal. I start them off with writing what I call a “Thought Download” everyday.

It’s been a challenge for every single one of them. So normal! They try to make it sound pretty, they want it to read like a book, they try to make it positive because “that’s how journaling should be and I need to feel good”. Well, that’s part of it, but not all of it.

Write, don’t edit, just let all your thoughts overflow onto the page. Then, go back and re read, from a place of non- judgment and curiosity. Look at your brain, your thought patterns and don’t judge... be fascinated by your thoughts. This is a powerful daily practice.

Today, I add to my daily practice more than just a thought download. I write my dreams. I write them as if they are already done. I access the emotions of excitement and joy that those dreaming thoughts generate and I feel as if my dreams have already come true!!

It’s the most amazing feeling to believe in yourself. And, this practice has helped me stay consistent in my self awareness, self love and total belief that my dreams are coming true!

Do you want to start a daily routine like this? Tell me your thoughts about it in the comments below.

With love,

Emily Elizabeth
