You know what gives me the biggest high?
It’s a rush every time.
I feel it in my head and chest in the best ways, it moves through my body and I want it to never leave.
It’s always available to me and I want to use it everyday to make me feel so good.
It’s actually super easy to get. No middle man.
I can help you get it too, if you’re wanting the same high as me. And, trust me...you do.
Ready for it?
GRATITUDE.
You might be thinking “How corny, how predictable, yeah yeah, be grateful, I get it.”
But, I don’t think you do. Really. If you did, you would be more intentional about it, you would notice the little things, the unexpected things the “annoying” things and find joy and/or appreciation in all of it.
You would get excited, genuinely happy and smiling over a new toothbrush, a new smelly good candle, brussel sprouts, a crowded train/metro, traffic, a potential client saying “no,'' the rainy weather, and unexpected bill, a fight with your partner, a deadline coming too fast, gaining a couple pounds...
These are just a few things that I found gratitude in this last week, and this list doesn’t nearly cover them all.
I’m intentional. I want to find joy in the little things, not just the obvious things.
I have my “poor me” and “victim mentality” moments... but they slap me in the face like the wake up call I need.
This life is freaking incredible, joyful, painful, sad, happy, stressful, exciting and every other emotion in between. I want it all. I want to feel it all.
I want to get high on it all.
And, the best way, the best medicine...GRATITUDE.
Start writing down a gratitude list everyday. Say it in your head, say it out loud, share it with anyone, everyone...someone.
It’s your choice to view life how you want, your perception is your reality. I want my reality to be full of gratefulness. Amen!
So, let’s get you started. What are you grateful for today?
