Are you afraid to get uncomfortable?
I was coaching a client yesterday and this question came up.
Most of us don’t ever want to feel uncomfortable.
We wonder why we are not as far as we would like to be with our goals - whether it be building a business, losing weight, building confidence, improving relationships- it is because we don’t want to experience discomfort.
It’s uncomfortable to start exercising when you haven’t been, to stop eating foods you are use to eating, to risk rejection and feel like you’ve failed, to be vulnerable and talk to someone about how you’re feeling... it’s all uncomfortable! .
So why do it? Because doing things that are hard for us and experiencing the discomfort along with it is the ONLY WAY to success, the only way to reach our goals.
Let me give you a personal example. This. This blog post right here, and the post before it. I believe I can help people and that I have a message to share. So I am getting uncomfortable and putting myself out there, hoping someone will read it and start to think deeper.
In order to grow, to evolve, to become the next version of yourself you’re going to feel uncomfortable.
When you set a goal, just know there will be some discomfort along the way. The sooner we accept and allow the discomfort the easier it gets. It’s all part of it. .
I challenge you to get uncomfortable! Feel it, embrace it. Get comfortable with the uncomfortable. Once you do this, the path to your goal, your growth and evolvement will be much better. .
